The soccer season is approaching. We can all feel the 'calm before the storm' (to quote a friend on the board) in the air.
Those of you who have already volunteered for the season as coaches, commissioners, officers and any other capacity, I (and the board) would like to thank you for your help and community spirit.
If you have any questions or would like to talk to me about becoming an officer or commissioner, I am only an email carbondale.soccer@gmail.com away and you can bet I will offer all the information/support I can provide.
In most instances the volunteers come from the 'parent' sector. As of lately we've had some volunteer coaches from the High School sector, which is most welcomed. From what I've seen on the fields, these younger coaches (and possible commissioners?) are met with enthusiasm by the players. The players seem to relate well to someone....not quite as old as their parents, those who themselves actually play the game and at a level the CSI players would like to be capable of playing in the near future (Go Terriers!). Seeing the younger generation getting involved, volunteering, in something they practice and enjoy at a much more competitive level is something I feel, well, money can't buy. Truely makes my heart soar to see young men and women volunteering. In any capacity.
May not seem like it now, but summer is ending. Soon the soccer fields will be swarming w/players of all ages. Come be a part of it, enjoy, and buy stuff from the concession stand on Saturdays.
Soccer is a great experience for the whole family to do...together.
