Higgs Starts Career With University of Pittsburgh Panthers

PITTSBURGH – Boca United's Kendall Higgs has started her career with the University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer team, the school announced today.

Higgs, an intended bioinformatics major, graduated high school early and enrolled at Pitt in January for the ongoing spring semester.

According to a University of Pittsburgh press release, "Higgs adds another potent player to the Panthers midfield..."

“We are thrilled to finally have Kendall aboard,” said head coach Greg Miller. “She brings leadership, grit, size, talent and a high work rate to our team. The fact she is left-sided and very strong in the air will give us some additional variety in the run of the play and on set pieces.

“Graduating early and being here this spring allows her to get acclimated to school, the level of play and our culture which should pay dividends for her come next fall.”

The Sun Sentinel named Higgs as an All-County First Team Selection all three years of her high school career. She earned the distinction of Winter All-Star State Team Selection from Top Drawer Soccer her sophomore and junior seasons.

Higgs played club soccer most recently with the Boca United FC ‘97/’98 team from (2013-16). In 2016, Top Drawer Soccer Grande Team Rankings tabbed Boca United FC ‘97/’98 as No. 23. Higgs finished the 2015-16 season with 11 goals and six assists.

At the club level, Higgs has attended numerous highly prestigious camps, such as the Elite Club National League Southeast Conference PDP Attendee
in 2015 and 2016, in addition she was an ECNL National Training Camp Attendee in 2016.

By enrolling early, Higgs will join the Panthers for spring ball as a tune-up before the regular season gets underway in August.
